We’re excited to welcome our new team member, Leah Berdysz! Leah is the Community Outreach Coordinator at LaunchHouse. She is excited to venture out into the community to connect with and support other entrepreneurs and creatives. In addition to being a team member at LaunchHouse Leah owns her own girl’s wellness and empowerment business called Empowered & Poised, teaches girls physical education at the Hebrew Academy of Cleveland, and is an entertainer for Rock the House Entertainment. She is passionate about entrepreneurship, wellness, and helping others. Read on to learn more about Leah!

Where did you go to college and what did you major in?

I graduated from John Carroll University and received my degrees in exercise science and entrepreneurship.

What were you involved in outside of class at John Carroll University?

Outside of class, I was involved in H.O.P.E. (helping other participate in exercise) an on-campus organization that I founded. I also participated in Carroll Faith Communities, retreats, on-campus events, and volunteering. One of my most favorite experiences while at John Carroll was my immersion experience during which I traveled to Nicaragua. Additionally, I taught physical education at the Hebrew Academy of Cleveland, emceed and danced for Rock the House Entertainment, and babysat throughout my years at JCU.

When you aren’t working, what do you do for fun?

When I’m not working I enjoy working out and spending time with my family and friends.

Where’s your favorite place in Northeast Ohio?

I do not have a particularly favorite place in NEO. However, I love exploring and attending as many amazing events as Cleveland has to offer.

How do you feel about Cleveland sports?

I’m a fan of Cleveland sports. Although, I do not follow them too closely.

Tell us about your family! Any siblings?

I am fortunate to come from a very loving and supportive household. My parents raised me in Twinsburg, OH along with my three siblings. Lindsey, my oldest sister, is an early childhood educator. My little sister, Darian is studying at Ohio University and my little brother Derek attends Benedictine High School.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about empowering and educating young girls which was my main motivation in founding a wellness and empowerment company.

What’s the best advice you’ve received?

The best advice I’ve ever received is to never lose faith.
