Meet our summer intern, Mackenzie Pippin! Mackenzie is a junior at Ohio University studying Visual Communication and Interactive Media Design. She is not only passionate about design but also for Golden Retrievers. “Neither my mom nor my apartment landlord will let me get one. So can someone do me a solid and let me adopt theirs only sometimes (to take on walks and to the park and stuff like that)? Thanks in advance!”

We are thrilled to have a talented and creative student join the LaunchHouse team for the summer. Get to know Mackenzie!

What made you want to join the LaunchHouse team?  What are you most excited about doing here?
Joining LaunchHouse was initially me just finding my required internship for school. But it shortly became somewhere that I truly enjoy coming. While I’ve only been here for a short time, I already feel very at home and am surrounded by many different resources and people to help me succeed! I’m most excited about working with and for the many different people here, and through that, learning how to make my skills more versatile and adjustable to their needs!

What are you passionate about?
I am very passionate about design. There’s nothing more satisfying than finally finishing a design that took you forever to complete; not only that but being truly HAPPY with it.

When you aren’t working, what do you do for fun?
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with friends and family at our Lake house in Port Clinton, OH.

What’s your favorite place in Northeast Ohio?
My favorite place in Northeast Ohio is probably Progressive Field. There’s a very unique and fun feeling being there and being a part of something bigger than yourself (ROLLLLLLL TRIBE)!

What’s the best advice you ever got?
The best advice I ever got is to have my hero be me in 10 years so I constantly have something to keep reaching toward.

Tell us about your family– any siblings?
I have a sister, Reaghan. She is 15 and plays a million sports, including lacrosse, baseball (yes, boys baseball), softball, basketball, and cheerleading. This year as a freshman, she made the Varsity Lacrosse team as the starting goalie. With that being said, I try to make it to as many games as possible to be her biggest fan cheering her on!

What are you majoring in at OU and why did you pick that?
I’m majoring in Interactive Media Design at OU. I chose this because the major entails everything from basic design, coding, photography, videography, to social media management. Essentially, I knew I would come out very well rounded with a wide variety of skills.
